Made in China and twice inspected for quality, the Bones Reds are a fast and precise bearing at an awesome price point. Bones Reds offer near Bones Swiss performance at a fraction of the cost.
If you choose to include spacers and speed rings, we will ship Bones Reds with our Fireball Dragon Spacers and Speed Rings set.
Spacer Types Explained:
- Skateboard Standard - These work with all regular skateboard wheels and trucks with 8mm axles.
- 6mm Spacer - Primarily for inline skates, these spacers are designed to work with regular 608 sized bearings and 6mm skate axles.
- Self Centering - Primarily for inline skates with 8mm axles. Same dimensions as "Skateboard Standard" but with the rim around the center to keep the spacer more or less centered when installing.
- Rollerbones 0.285" - These smaller width spacers are primarily used in quad skates / roller skates that take wheels with thinner hubs, such as Rollerbones Wheels.
Note: For the 6mm, self centering, and Rollerbones spacers, you will always get 8 spacers, regardless of your bearing pack selection.
Various Types of Bones Bearings:
- Standard: This one is pretty self explanatory.
- Super: Stronger shields and overall better build quality.
- Race: Built-in spacers and speed rings, same shields as Supers
- Swiss: Best build quality, lower tolerances, **Made in Switzerland, Not China**
- Swiss Ceramics: Same as Swiss except it contains ceramic balls, which provide eons less friction than steel balls

Manufacturing Bones Reds Bearings
Bones Reds are made in China by a leading balls bearings manufacturer, though the design and manufacturing process was guided by Bones directly.
Bones is the same company as the famous skateboard team the Bones Brigade, which has members Tony Hawk, Rodney Mullen, Mike McGill, Tommy Guerrero, Lance Mountain, and Steve Caballero.
Bones REDS are the #1 best selling bearing in the world and for good reason. They were launched in 1997 and have been super popular ever since because of their blend of affordability and high performance.
Bones claims that REDS are "...the best blend of speed, strength, and durability you can buy at a price all skaters can afford."
Bones REDS are the standard skateboard bearing size called 608. They measure 22mm (outer diameter) x 7mm (width) x 8mm (inner diameter/axle).
All Bones Bearings, including Bones REDS, are Bones Skate Rated. This means they are made specifically for skating.
ABEC ratings can be a misleading metric as it is only about clearances. Learn more about ABEC ratings and why they don't matter.
