The Powell Peralta Pro Andy Anderson Hydrant '2' Flight Silver Foil skateboard deck is Shape 323, Andy's dialed-in, more precise version of the Vajra. This deck-only board measures 8.4 inches wide by 32.03 inches long with a 14.25 inch wheelbase, a matching 6.79 inch nose and tail, and K26 concave. The mold pinches to about 8.25 inches at the waist and opens to just under 8.5 inches at the widest point, a smaller symmetrical take on the original Heron. Silver foil sits under Vernon Courtlandt Johnson's Hydrant artwork. Flight construction bonds U.S. hard rock maple with high-strength fiberglass and AirLam epoxy in Ventura, California, for a thinner, stronger deck with lasting pop and no included grip tape.
Shape 323 Hydrant Geometry and K26 Pocket
Powell Shape 323 came together more easily for Andy than the Vajra it refines. The outline is symmetrical, with a 6.79 inch nose and a 6.79 inch tail, a square edge, and slightly curved kicks that deliver stable pop in either stance. K26 concave and the inner cuts near the truck holes form a front-foot pocket that makes tre flips and varial heelflips easier to flick. A short 4 truck-hole pattern sets the wheelbase at 14.25 inches, and the waist-to-flare outline stays planted without feeling oversized.
VCJ Hydrant Graphic on Silver Foil Flight
Vernon Courtlandt Johnson's Hydrant graphic is printed over silver foil so the metal reads through the linework. Foil sheets can show faint process lines, which Powell treats as normal, and the ink-to-foil bond scratches if the deck is yanked from the wrap. Under the graphic, Flight is pressed in Ventura from U.S. hard rock maple, high-strength fiberglass, and AirLam fused with epoxy. The stack is about as thin as a phone, more than twice as strong in tail-break tests, and built so rebound lasts several times longer than a comparable 7-ply.
